The International Language Institute, Seoul Campus, offering an intensive program on Korean language and culture, is home to about 350 students from more than 20 countries worldwide. The program is designed for students who wish to learn Korean and to broaden their knowledge of Korean culture.
The program is 180 hour intensive course, lasting for 10 weeks and is offered four times a year. Students learn and practice Korean in classrooms 4 days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The morning program is 9:00-13:00 and the afternoon program is 14:00-18:00
Students entering the program are tested and subsequently are placed in 6 levels. The program consists of reading and writing Hangul and emphasizes the use of practical and grammatically correct spoken and written Korean. Dialogues, discussions, and various reading, listening and writing exercises further develop these skills and communicative abilities. Movies, songs and TV shows are also frequently presented to provide students with a better understanding of Korean culture. A variety of social and cultural classes are offered biweekly on Wednesdays. They include cooking Korean food, takwondo, Korean traditional and folk dance, making Korean handicraft, Hanbok (Korean traditional costume) etiquettes, and excursions to attractions in Seoul including mountain-hiking and observation tours.nced subjects like Korean traditions, legal matters, information communication and science with relative ease.
