Department of Financial Management

Our major in financial management focuses on producing specialists in the areas of management and finance. The program offers a solid background in business administration, economics and finance. Students will study courses in economics, finance, accounting, math, alongside a wide range of elective areas to complement and sharpen their skills for a variety of in-demand career opportunities. Through a flexible curriculum, graduates are equipped with a versatility of skills and often go on to careers in financial services in the public and private sectors. The program also prepares students to earn various credentials such as the CPA, CFA, and even for the most prestigious MBA courses around the world.

Department of Policy Studies

Majoring in Policy Studies will enable students to make a difference in the complex policy issues of today. Not only is it a good preparation for law school, but also for various positions in government agencies. The program aims to enable students to explore various social issues at the intersection between law and public policy. Students study courses across disciplines including law, philosophy, politics, economics, finance and even foreign languages, so that they can analyze and evaluate contemporary public policy problems, in addition to communicating effectively beyond language barriers. To lead in a global society, we teach students to approach all topics in terms of global issues and international relations.

Department of Public Administration

The curriculum for this major is designed to prepare graduates for leadership positions in public service. Career choices for graduates of the program are vast, from a broad range of positions in public service to politics, research, university teaching, and business. For students who choose to prepare for law school or civil service exams are guaranteed prior application to join the exam prep support classes.

Department of Electronic Engineering

In 2010, the program was instituted in response to the rising trend and demand from industry to integrate computer science, information technology and electronic engineering. Sustained by an innovative and entrepreneurial faculty who are true leaders in their fields, the program has been recognized and awarded among the very best in the nation by the Korean government. The stellar faculty also received first place in the amount of earnings from successful transfer technologies, number of research publications in SCI-level journals, number of patent registrations and others.

Major in Software

Moving away from the previous paradigm in computer science of concentrating on hardware development, this program was instituted in 2012 specifically to shift focus on software engineering. Students are expected to be professionals in the creation and development of information systems for the benefit of society. Future career options include computer science and software engineering in virtually all sectors including telecommunications, security, finance, health care, and technology management to name a few. Partnering with corporations including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and SK Hynix Semiconductor, students have opportunities to engage in research projects with the nation’s leading companies as well as secure employment opportunities.

Department of Energy Engineering

In efforts to produce influential professionals who can contribute to solving the problems of climate change, the energy engineering program was established in 2010 to join the developments in the energy field. Areas of focus include new and renewable energy, and the program is designed to catalyze change towards a sustainable future.

Department of Automotive Engineering

First implemented in 2011, automotive engineering aims to cultivate leaders in the future automotive engineering. To reflect the global need for vehicle components to shift gears from mechanical to electrical and software-based components, the program integrates electronics, electrical engineering and information technology to develop green and smart cars of the future with the highest levels of performance.
Active partnerships with the industry’s leading firms from around the globe provides students with a wide range of research collaboration and employment opportunities. Corporate partnerships include Hyundai Motor Company, Renault Samsung Motors, General Motors, BMW, Infineon Technologies, Bosch, and Mando Corporation. Generous investments from sponsoring companies have allowed full tuition awards to students, but also provided the department with a brand new R&D Center that opened in May 2015, named after Hyundai Motor Group Chairman, Chung Mong-koo.
