Introduction

The Department of Educational Technology, as part of the College of Education, has the aim of cultivating educators. Therefore, students learn about 'education' through teaching subjects or various major subjects. However, rather than studying only the essence of education, this department is a study of educational methods, educational media, and theories that can maximize learning effects. Therefore, we study ways to achieve higher educational effectiveness and efficiency by combining the characteristics of engineering that emphasizes efficiency with education. Using the characteristics of engineering, however, is not just about introducing advanced technology. We are also maximizing the effectiveness of education through knowledge in various fields related to education such as psychology, business administration, and communication theory. Examples of useful ways to understand educational technology include Internet lectures, e-learning, smart learning, ubiquitous learning, teaching methods, and instructional design. In sum, education engineering focus on how to effectively and efficiently offer education to as many people in a short time, and it considers educational curriculum planning, teaching methods, and development of teaching medium. In the educational engineering discipline, the U.S. is in the lead, but, in recent years, the e-learning market has become popular in Asia as well as in the UK.
