Courses of Korean Language and Literature are divided into 'Korean Linguistics' and 'Korean Literature.’ In 'Korean Linguistics,’ basic knowledge of Korean language, such as syntax, semantics, phonetics, and phonology are taught. On the other hand, ‘Korean Literature,’ focuses on the literary works and the philosophy and ethos reflected in the history and culture of the contemporary literature and works of literature reflected in the literary works. Also, what is essential in Department of Korean Language and Literature is 'writing'. In the creation of poetry and novel creation lessons, students concentrate on creative writing.
