2 1 MDT2004 Mixed Reality (MR) and New Media Core Major 3-2-2
Augmented reality is a technique of superimposing virtual objects on the real world seen by the user. In other words, it is a field of Virtual Reality, which is a computer graphics technique that synthesizes virtual objects or information in a real environment and makes them look like objects in the original environment. Existing virtual reality was only about virtual space and objects. The augmented reality is to increase the effect of reality by combining the virtual object on the environment of the real world, unlike the virtual reality which assumes the complete virtual world. For this reason, Augmented Reality is also called Mixed Reality (MR). The augmented reality changes the nature of the physical space when information artifacts with computing power in the physical space are filled up. Because of this feature, unlike existing virtual reality, which can be applied only to fields such as games, it can be applied to various real environments. Especially, it is attracting attention as next generation display technology suitable for ubiquitous environment. A mixture of the real world and the virtual world. Mixed reality includes augmented reality (AR) that adds virtual information based on reality and augmented virtuality (AV) that adds real information to a virtual environment. In other words, mixed reality provides users with a rich experience by providing users with a smart environment in which reality and virtual are connected naturally rather than a complete virtual world (virtual reality). It can be used in a variety of fields, such as a broadcasting station virtual studio for weather forecasts or news delivery, map information based on images taken from a smart phone or smart glasses (smart glass), virtual training on aircraft, do. It is clear that all media is a reality manipulating device, but new media is using technology to create a new moment of reality.
