Professor Seon Yang-guk Became a Fellow of the Electrochemical Society
His research achievements on lithium-ion and the next-generation secondary cell were recognized

On October 31st, Hanyang University announced that professor Seon Yang-guk (professor in the Department of Energy Engineering) became a fellow of the Electrochemical Society. His research achievements in the field of the lithium-ion secondary cell and the next-generation secondary cell system were praised, contributing to his current status as a fellow.
Seon was also named as '17 Scientists Who Could Receive the Nobel Prize' by the National Research Foundation. He has published 599 SCI-class dissertations and has 456 patents in and out of Korea. Furthermore, he is a senior editor of the 「ACS Energy Letters」 of the Chemical Society and was nominated as 'The Most Influential Top 1% Researcher in the World' in the fields of material science (2016-2018) and engineering (2016-2017).
The Electrochemical Society (ECS) develops the theories and technologies of electrochemistry and solid-state science, including lithium-ion batteries, secondary cells, hydrogen energy, the solar cell, and energy devices. The ECS chooses less than 15 fellow members according to a researcher's academic and technological research achievements and their ripple effects on society.
