In order to alleviate the burden on local students caused by face-to-face exams, Face-to-Face Exam Subsidies are being provided.

Eligible candidates are 2020 first semester enrolled students with more than one face-to-face exam. However, 2020 first semester Lion Scholarship applicants, or beneficiaries of special scholarships for student council, short and long-term dormitory residents, and those with disciplinary actions from the previous semester may not apply. The subsidy will provide 100,000 won per person for 1,000 students.

Candidates for the face-to-face subsidies will be decided based on the following matrix: 45% commuting distance, 45% commuting expenses (transportation expenses), and 10% general score(length of stay). In case of any ties, applicants with more face-to-face exam days will be selected first. Commuting expenses are based on the minimum transportation expenses of at least three times of one-way travel from the residence to Hanyang University according to the following map. Exceptional cases will be considered when the face-to-face exam starting time is in the morning, which will allow staying the night before.

The application period is from June 17 to 28. Reviews will take place from June 29 to July 8, and after the review and reporting to the Office of Student Affairs is completed, applicants will receive their subsidies directly to their accounts. All applicants must submit a face-to-face exam subsidy application, consent to provide third-party information, a copy of their resident registration, and face-to-face exam period transportation expense documents. If additional documents showing a sibling's enrollment or leaves of absence, or immediate family hospitalization confirmation are submitted, 2 points will be granted for each.

The application form can be downloaded from the Student Council Facebook page. An important notice is that all government documents or contracts must be submitted as original documents or certified copies. Pictures of documents will not be accepted. Also, the student must be the account holder in order to receive the subsidy deposit, and all documents are only valid for up to 30 days after issue. The application process is not being done face-to-face due to COVID-19. All applications and documents can be submitted in an email titled [Face-to-face exam subsidiary application-name, department] to sloth4211@hanyang.ac.kr.

Detailed information can be found on the Hanyang University Student Council Facebook page.
