Hanyang University, ‘Global Accelerators Conference’ for Overseas Expansion of Startup
11 global accelerators invited in celebration of the 80 year anniversary

Hanyang University held the ‘2019 Global Accelerators Conference & Startup Pitch’ at Seongdong-gu's, Seoul campus for two days starting on May 30th. The accelerators stand for startup support organizations that excavate, foster, and manage early entrepreneurs.
This event was organized to enhance the global startup capability of prep entrepreneurs and startups that wish to expand overseas by inviting 11 global accelerator companies in honor of the 80th anniversary of Hanyang University. Hanyang University Startup Support Foundation and the Seoul Startup Hub co-managed the event that consisted of programs like △Global accelerator conference △Startup company seminar(IR) △Networking party.
On the first day (30th), the conference between 11 global accelerators of North America, Europe, and Asia and President Kim Woo-seung, president of Commax Byeon Bong-deok, startup promotion chairman Kim Kwang-hyun began at the Seoul campus of Hanyang University. After dividing the groups into North America, Europe, and Asia groups, the accelerators participated in panel talks per group with topics like startup, global startup trend, and investment attraction that global venture capitalists (VCs) want. Also one-on-one closed investment attraction meetings and networking parties enable meeting entrepreneurs who aim for global expansion.
On the second day (31st), the Startup Pitch event was held at Seoul Mapo-gu “Seoul Startup Hub.” University startups from Hanyang University, Konkuk University, Kookmin University, Sungshin Women’s University, Soongsil University, and Induk University will proceed the public IR, and 9 domestic investment companies will evaluate them.
The head of Hanyang University startup promotion chairman Ryu Chang-wan said, "I hope this event will be of practical assistance in providing a foothold for the global expansion of startups." He also said, "We will continuously strive to arrange agreements between startup companies and the global market."
